Open Sky Data Systems in Association with Dublin City Council have released the ParkText Service.

Thousands of Dublin city motorists waste precious time every day searching for parking spaces. If you are one of these people, then you should try out Dublin's new ParkText service.

ParkText gives motorists an easy way to view up to the minute availability of parking spaces in Dublin's car parks using SMS on your mobile phone. Simply text "park" to 53030 to get the current number of spaces available in Dublin's Northside car parks, or text "park s" to 53030 to get the number of spaces available in Southside car parks. You will receive an immediate response giving you the information you requested.

Equally if you know the name of the car park you want, but don't know the opening hours or directions, simply text an abbreviated version of the car park to 53030. For example, if you want to park at Abbey Street car park, simply text "Park abb" to 53030 to find out all the details you need.

According to Brendan O'Brien, Head of Technical Services with Dublin City Council: "Many motorists waste time trying to find a place to park, or that a car park is full when they get there. ParkText will help motorists get to their parking space quicker, so they can get on with their business".
